Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

  • Design, code, and, unit test application features as specified, build superior application software for web.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to deliver and gain QA acceptance.
  • Work with engineering leaders, architects and Product Managers to scope work and produce estimates.
  • Leverage technology knowledge to advance product architecture & create technical designs.
  • Lead technology areas as needed and mentor junior software engineers.

Desired skills & experience:

  • 4+ years’ working knowledge in Swing development and 2+ years’ experience with web browser technologies, such as CSS3, HTML5 and AJAX.
  • Familiarity with modern UI technologies such as Angular.JS and strong JavaScript experience.
  • Understands fundamentals of agile methodologies - iterative development, SCRUM, UAT, continuous integration.
  • Must be familiar with network security, TCP/IP, data center architectures.
  • Experience using tools such as Pivotal, GitHub, Jenkins.

Software Engineer

Job Description:

Sr. Support Escalation Engineer (Tier 2)

Job Description:

  • See escalated customer support cases through to completion. 
  • Review network device config files, server logs, and RedSeal source code (Java, XML) to find root causes of customer issues.
  • Communicate requests for product code fixes to developers.
  • Maintain ongoing close relationship with premium support customers to better serve their needs.
  • Assist with QA testing to help approve new releases of the product. Help to maintain lab network used for testing and mocking up customer issues.

Desired skills & experience:

  • Experience working with customers, understanding their issues, and working with them to resolve the issues.
  • Require background in building or maintaining networks. Should be familiar with most of the following:
    • routers
    • firewalls
    • vulnerability scanners
    • load balancers
    • configuration management databases (CMDB)
  • The escalation engineer is not expected to write product code, but will need to review the code to help find the root cause of customer problems.
  • Some programming experience very helpful, preferably with Javascript, Java, C, and XML.
  • Other Object Oriented Programming languages are acceptable as well.
  • Must be comfortable with UNIX command line. UNIX systems administration experience is a plus, especially Linux.
  • Practical network security experience is a strong benefit.
  • Ability to write scripts to utilize a web based API is helpful.

  • 5 + years of related experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a software support position.
